Reference Questions
A few things to look out for when checking references:
- What was the candidate’s job title/position & location
- Please state dates of employment
- What was the reason for leaving?
- If not against your company policy, would you re-employ?
- If NO, please state your reasons.
- What was the candidate’s basic salary and if appropriate bonus related payment at the time of leaving?
- Did the candidate have any health problems that affected their job performance?
- If YES can you elaborate.
- Was the candidate’s attendance good?
- Please comment if attendance was below acceptable standards
- Would you consider the candidate trustworthy & honest?
- What were the candidate’s main duties and responsibilities?
- Any additional comments
